Sorrow can be alleviated by good sleep, a bath and a glass of wine. — St Thomas Aquinas.

If the other bartenders are busy, I’m happy to make a project of this (and/or this) in order to get people’s bios onto a page directly from their profiles. Then it’s up to individual fellows whether they complete that information or not, rather than someone having to chase people down for a static page.

As for me, here’s my “biographical information” as just updated on my profile:

According to TommyMertonHead, I’m one of six Lutherans living in Britain. Well, there are a few more of us than that, but I admit we are fairly thin on the ground over here. I’ve been a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of England since 2004, having previously been an Anglican evangelical (in the John Stott tradition).

I live on the south-eastern fringes of Greater London, with my wife and our three sons (aged 2, 5 and 8), and work as a technology lawyer. My personal blog is at Confessing Evangelical, and I’m on Twitter here.

That said, I’m not too exercised about the lack of information. It’s quite fun, and ultimately more informative, trying to piece together a sense of people’s “real life” from their posts here (and on, er, other sites which TMH would rather we didn’t mention (jn)), and at least it guards against Bulverism, forcing us to engage with what is being said rather than just who is saying it…
