I don’t think this is a Calvinist Vs Arminian question. I understand the “Does God intend to save everyone?” logic. I’ve memorized it in a 20 year attempt to make myself believe it.
I simply do not believe that a person can stand in front of a room of people and say “God does not intend to save everyone” and feel any integrity to what Jesus represented in everything he did.
It’s a place that certain Calvinists want to impress someone with their ability to look into the abyss of predestination and still come out smiling. I find that to be a leap into a kind of faith that will wake a person up in the night with some very basic choices to make. I did, and I choose. I can be beaten up by logical arrangement of verses. But I can’t believe in Jesus who comes to intentionally only save the elect. (Mostly PCA and TR.)
