Bob, if you are talking about a choir, ensemble or soloist offering their gifts in a church sanctuary that no one would mistake for a concert hall, then I can certainly agree with some of your points.

But wouldn’t you agree that a great deal of what is passed off as worship music today is presented in settings that shout “PERFORMANCE” so loudly that people might find it difficult to distinguish between whether they’re at a concert or a worship service?
